Tezcatlipoca, el espejo humeante. Dios del norte, de la noche, del destino. Cuando el mundo fue creado, el monstruo Cipactli le arrancó el pie. Esa herida primordial vive en el corazón de esta dancita: el refrán imita ese cojeo sagrado, el paso del dios que perdió un pie y sin embargo gobierna el universo. "El jaguar y el águila son una dualidad. Oscuridad y luz. Tezcatlipoca y Quetzalcóatl." Los ayoyotes en los pies deben responder al huehue. El ritmo no se aprende con la cabeza, se aprende con las orejas primero. Axel lo canta durante la danza. Cuando los pies lo encuentran solos, la danza se vuelve natural.
