The Bart Harding Stack for Beginners
The Bart Harding Stack is a great stack for beginners as well as more advanced thaumaturgists. It's easy to learn and there's no memorization involved. All you need to know are the numbers 0, 5, 13, 26, and 39. If you can handle that, you can handle the Bart Harding Stack. Here is the link to the two-page sheet explaining the stack's basics: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bHYn9JjxHJB0E9emviWyYdqOhGCCSrEG Here is the flow chart mentioned in the video to help you determine where a given card is or to find a card at a given position in the Harding Stack. It looks a lot more complicated than it is. After awhile, these calculations become second nature and you won't need the flow chart. To find the position of a card in the Harding Stack: 1) If the card you're looking for is a Club, do nothing, (i.e., add 0); If a Heart, add 13 to the face value of the card; If a Spade, add 26 to the face value of the card; If a Diamond, add 39 to the face value of the card. 2) Once you have this new number, reverse the positions of the digit in the tens column with the digit in the ones column. If this next number is 52 or less, you have found the position of the named card in the Harding Stack and you are done. 3) If this next number is 53 or higher, subtract 5 from the tens column and add 5 to the ones column. You have now found the position of the card in the Harding Stack and you are done. 4) Remember: the 6C and 7C do not follow the formula above and are simply in the sixth and seventh positions respectively. No calculations of any kind are required to find these two cards. To find a card at a certain position in the Harding Stack: 1) In the number given, reverse the positions of the digit in the tens column with the digit in the ones column. Remember this new number. 2) If this new number is 53 or higher, subtract 5 from the tens column and add 5 to the ones column. 3) If the new number is 13 or less, the card is a Club and the new number is also the face value of the card you are looking for. You have now found the card. If the new number is 14 to 26, the card is a Heart. Subtract 13 from the number. This final number is the face value of the card you are looking for. You have now found the card. If the new number is 27 to 39, the card is a Spade. Subtract 26 from the number. This final number is the face value of the card you are looking for. You have now found the card. If the new number is 40 to 52, the card is a Diamond. Subtract 39 from the number. This final number is the face value of the card you are looking for. You have now found the card. 4) Remember: the 6C and 7C do not follow the formula above and are simply in the sixth and seventh positions respectively. No calculations of any kind are required to find these two cards.
