Today marks the start of Season 2 of The Plotcast and a new chapter for the allotment.
A few months ago, this was just an idea in a funding bid. With support from the @TNLComFund our allotment society was able to buy beekeeping equipment, arrange training and start building something that the wider community can learn from and look after together.
This episode follows the day the bees arrived!
It did not quite go to script, because the person dropping off the bees gave us a brilliant hands-on training session while they helped settle the hives into their new home. So instead of a neat little episode, this is a real look at the learning, questions, nerves, curiosity and quiet excitement that comes with starting something new.
The honey will be a great bit of bonus content.
But this project is really about community, shared ownership and what can happen when a group of people are given the chance to build something together.
