The Data Center Debate: No Data Centers = No Internet
The data center debate is missing one basic reality: no data centers means no internet. People are panicking over data centers, AI data centers, energy use, water use, noise, land use, and power grid strain. Some of those concerns are legitimate. But the argument often falls apart when people act like modern life can keep running without the physical infrastructure behind the internet. Data centers power cloud computing, online banking, hospitals, aviation systems, emergency services, GPS, streaming, business software, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, backups, websites, apps, and the digital tools people use every day. This video is not a blank check for every data center project. Communities should ask hard questions about data center energy use, data center water usage, local grid stress, tax incentives, noise, land development, and transparency. But “no data centers” is not a serious solution. It means no cloud, no streaming, no modern internet, and a weaker digital backbone for almost everything people depend on. #DataCenters #InternetInfrastructure #AI #CloudComputing #DigitalInfrastructure
