The Deceived

Jesus Warned Us: “Take Heed That No Man Deceive You” In the final hours before His crucifixion, as His disciples asked about the signs of the end, Jesus didn’t start with earthquakes, wars, or famines.He started with this:“Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5) He repeated the warning three times in that same chapter. He said false christs and false prophets would arise, showing great signs and wonders—so convincing that, if possible, they would deceive even the elect.This wasn’t a side note. It was priority #1. Why? Because in the last days, the greatest danger wouldn’t be outward chaos—it would be deception from within. Smooth words. Counterfeit miracles. Emotional experiences. Doctrines that tickle ears and deny the power of God. Wolves in sheep’s clothing. A gospel without the cross. Unity without truth. “Love” that embraces what God calls sin. Jesus knew the enemy’s strategy: Twist the truth just enough to lead multitudes away.Today we see it everywhere:Teachers who claim to speak for God but deny His Word. Movements that promise heaven on earth but reject repentance. Voices that say “Jesus” but preach another Jesus. Signs and wonders that distract from the narrow way. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice… and they follow Me.” (John 10:27) The antidote is simple, but costly: Know the Scriptures. Stay on your knees. Test every spirit. Cling to the real Jesus—the One who died for your sins, rose again, and is coming back soon. Don’t be swept away by the crowd. Don’t trade truth for comfort. Don’t follow signs—follow the Savior. The deception is here. But so is the Holy Spirit, our Teacher. Stay awake. Stay anchored.
