The Einstein Sudoku
*** TODAY'S PUZZLE *** A real innovation today in which Synergenesis & mbumbee, two new constructors, who have combined sudoku with an Einstein puzzle (often called a Logic Puzzle in the UK). This probably won't be a regular item simply because of the amount of space necessary on the screen but, as a one-off, we have to commend the pair on a really fantastic experience - it's not easy but the way the two puzzles work together is lovely. Play the puzzle at the links below: https://sudokupad.app/dyg2otjpgb and the Logic puzzle is available here: https://tinyurl.com/2sh9dc7b (For those without tinyurl abilities we've included the full link in a comment under the video.) Rules: This puzzle combines sudoku and an Einstein puzzle or logic grid. Normal sudoku rules apply. Cells separated by a V sum to 5 and cells separated by an X sum to 10. Cells along a green line are at least 5 apart. Cells along a purple line are consecutive numbers, in some order. On a thermometer, digits increase from the bulb. Cells along an arrow sum to the value in the connected circle. If two digits are separated by a black dot then one is double the other. One of the four cells touching the circle containing a 9 contains the digit 9. In addition, every sudoku digit has a unique favourite colour and a unique favourite shape. Colours are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, and silver. Shapes are circle, triangle, square, star, diamond, heart, crescent, cross, and pentagon. A digit will only share a cell with its favourite colour and/or shape. The following 6 clues and the sudoku grid will allow you to determine each digit's favourite colour and shape. 1. The digit one's favourite shape is not a heart. 2. There are four digits whose value is equal to the number of letters in their favourite colour; 3. The digit whose favourite colour is yellow has the star as their favourite shape; 4. The pentagon is the favourite shape of an even digit; 5. The digit whose favourite colour is silver is greater than six; 6. The digit whose favourite colour is purple is never orthogonally adjacent to two of the same number at once. For clarity, r9c2 is a pink cell. Also, the circles in the thermometer and arrow are not shapes for the purposes of solving the puzzle. A true circle is displayed in r4c5. ▶CLASSIC SUDOKU 2: OUR BRAND NEW APP ◀ We've released the long-awaited sequel to one of our most popular apps (the original Classic Sudoku).
