A long time ago, I started to notice a problem with how a fandom's expectations for popular characters can hinder the Creator's ability to try new things. Whether it was The Fonz, Steve Urkel, or even The Green Ranger, sometimes a character becomes so popular that they become as popular as the rest of the show itself.
