The most I'd ever done was try to put a shelf up, and that didn't go well. So I made a long term plan. I started with an evening woodwork class, then I took some design lessons with an engineer, studied with an accordion maker, and watched a ton of youtube videos. I then spent a long time at the workshop making loads of mistakes while I was trying to figure it all out. I've had to combine a few technologies and methods to make this melodica, 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking and metalworking. I'm no expert, but hopefully any makers out there will learn from my mistakes, and go on to make something better. What I've learned from this, is that with a bit of persistence, or desperation in my case, it is actually possible to achieve your goals however unrealistic they seem.
