The Lord establishes our steps.

Proverbs 16:9 ESV The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Breakdown Our heart may have a desire to plan something that deliberately goes against the will of God. We sometimes find ourselves making plans on our behalf without even asking the father for guidance or approval. Christ orders our steps in line with his will. We plan God paves the road ahead. Humans are irrational creatures that react to the instinct to stimulus. God governs the details of actions, so we depend on him. We want to make sure our plan is in order with the lord so he can bless it. Whatever we plan that is not of the father will not be blessed. That same plan will be torn down to remind us that if God doesn't ordain it, it will not last. Definition of establish Set up (an organization, system, or set of rules) on a firm or permanent basis. Today's devotional We are intelligent; we have great ideas. Do our plans line up with the father's will? Have We asked for his approval? We are submitted to the father so he may guide out every move. Our obligation to the father is to seek his guidance and approval in all we do. Just because something seems to be of benefit doesn't mean it is. God has our best interest at heart and will always lead us in a way that will bring glory to his name, not ours.
