*SORRY NO SOUND* Part 3 and the Spaceman faces off against the Monster. More live-action combined with model work. The monster was only supposed to be injured at this point and then chase the man out into the Martian desert for the climax of the film, hiding under the sand and being blown up when trapped in the cargo container.
Unfortunately the monster had less movement, and acting ability, than the shark from 'Jaws' and was not capable of performing the actions required, so it died off a bit early and a script rewrite was needed - hence more model action for part 4 - in and alternate ending.
