The model SCOPE for beginners

The model ‘Soil Canopy Observation of Photosynthesis and Energy fluxes (SCOPE) was developed to support the interpretation of remote sensing observations of terrestrial vegetation. It models the interaction of light and thermal radiation among soil, vegetation and the atmosphere. But SCOPE is more than a radiative transfer model: It also simulates the micro-climate within the vegetation, the photosynthesis, and heat exchange with soil and atmosphere. It can help us understand how plants interact thermodynamically with their environment. In this short tutorial you will get familiar with the model components and its use in example applications.
