Organisations, companies, governments and countries measure their progress with reducing the rate at which climate change is getting worse by how fast they are reducing their emissions of the gases that cause climate change. A metric called "net emissions" is commonly used to do this. Using "net emissions" is within the rules, but it is a misleading measure of real progress. This presentation tells you why "net emissions" are the wrong measure, and what we should use instead. Along the way you will hear about the fundamental cause of climate change and the basic things we need to do to make our climate less dangerous. The presentation draws from climate science, and includes references to cited articles. The presentation discusses how current approaches to climate change are worsening inter-generational inequity, which some viewers might find challenging.
