Both songs encompass what I think my brother's last days were like. Both of these songs were hard to write. I don't know exactly what happened and I don't know what was going through his head. I did know he wasn't happy, and was in this downward spiral with his drinking. It's hard to know what to say or when to say it as you see someone harming themselves. I didn't want to harm my friendship with my brother and possibly push him away, so I wouldn't outright confront him. I tried a few times and it never ended well. I didn't want to lose our connection, but ended up losing all of him in the end. Keep the ones you love close, and don't be afraid to help even if they don't think they need it.
