The Problem With Perfect Photography
Long before we understood exposure, focus, or composition, many of us were already learning how photographs feel. In this video, I look through old family photo albums and explore how our emotional understanding of images develops before we have any technical language for them. The imperfections in those photos, the softness, the color shifts, the uneven light, aren’t separate from the memory. They are often part of why the images stay with us. This is also about how that changes the way we make photographs now. Technical precision matters, but it isn’t the same as emotional depth. Sometimes the elements we’re tempted to correct are the same ones that keep an image alive. Thanks for being here.
