Another piece of gold coming at you now as we present "Jive Samba" by the Rhythm Rogues, from the digitized vinyl vaults of online music store Amoeba. The Jive Samba is a jazz standard written by Nat Adderley for the Cannonball Adderley Sextet and recorded for the first time by them - live - for the album "Jazz Workshop Revisited" in 1962. Amoeba lists The Rhythm Rogues' version to be recorded in 1960, so many questions arises when we, by comparison, must conclude that it is indeed the same tune we're dealing with here. Most likely Amoeba have got the wrong date for the recording of this amazing version. One thing is definitely certain: This record is rare! The only thing I've been able to find out about The Rhythm Rogues is that they were from Indiana and part of a rich garage funk movement that was taking place there in the early sixties.
