The River Rises

Another piece about the Silt Verses. This one begins with a recitation of the poem made by the episode titles before getting into the song itself. Here is said poem: Let me speak first of revelations, And next of dark deceit Then I’ll speak of champions Of Lovers, Gods and Beast My song is long and twisted It winds it worms it wends It carries few, It drowns many And those I love it rends My song has taken hold of me It grips my tongue, my throat My voice cries truths I never knew And to fight is just to choke So let me dwell eternal And in ruined flesh ascend For my song has no beginning Here are the lyrics written by me: Times may pass, and come what will The tide shall rise and drink his fill The mind may rage, or soul submit Nevertheless, the tide comes in Be it a curse upon your name, Or be it a blessing, it’s all the same Sing in praise or proclaim your sins Nevertheless the tide comes in The world may refract in that crash of the wave If drowned lungs could sing, what would they say? “Am I descending?” Or “Am I set free?” Dragged down to the river, and on to the sea Come the shore will you wither?
