'the (SMW Hack) (Longplay)

Hack: 'the / Coronation Day Authors: Torchkas, underway Length: 1 Exit Difficulty: Standard: Normal / Casual (I also think "Puzzle" could be used for this but not as much since this doesn't have much of these) Status: Accepted Patch: https://smwc.me/s/40431 So, back to this huh, I recorded the first version of this one a while ago (https://youtu.be/6ReJlqlar0Q) and while I didn't uncovered most of it, I was content with it. Before dumping the wall of text no one really reads I want to give a shout-out to the channel @Komotoo and the SMW Central thread ( https://smwc.me/1654282 ) for most of the solutions given as I used some of the existing videos for some solutions, namely the color path in the big building and some of the colors like the green one. what is "'the"? It's a spoopy hack about Mario and Peach and a forest where all sorts of things happen. I don't know if this counts as a Creepypasta, it is creepy but still. The story is... something, the version of 8 years ago was more condensed since it was like, 4 or 5 phases of the forest, this version however is more big, and idk if I'd call that good when the story is a mess that don't really explain much if anything and introduces so much, like, is the forest or the king a demon? is this an experiment done by scientists? is it a dream? is it a simulation? The game does so much introducing stuff and in the end idk what to make of it, if anything, I was more confused, but at the end of the day this hack has an ending, I reached it and that's good enough for me, and I know I once again didn't uncovered all of the content. I'm aware there's like, 10 more endings and what not but I see these more of side quests for sickos who like to datamine and hex edit the rom, and since the Normal ending doesn't really require that I'm more than happy whit it, which speaking of, it seems the "Lighter" item is obtainable without needing to hex edit the thing in but I'm not able to test that as I discovered that after the fact (https://youtu.be/rjwe3zkcmk8). Now, did I enjoy this hack like when I first played it in 2016? eh, like I said, I feel most of the new stuff added don't really fit the old narrative, but then again, what was the old narrative? it was about a king and a crime, or that's what I remember, now here, it could be anything, what exactly? not sure, another thing I kinda don't like is not being able to run, and I know it's like that by design but traveling the same area over and over and over and OVER is kinda tiring in the long run, another thing I don't like and this is a thing from the old version that is still here, is the loud music that plays when the "King" starts chasing you before dropping into the pit, I would liked if that song was lowered a bit because going over and over getting my ears blasted is not something I like (As a fun fact, I removed my headphones every time I went through that section) Overall this hack is impressive, and while I didn't like most of the additions that clash with the spooky vibe, this is still an impressive work and I'm glad it got an official ending, I also like the music in this, specially the mole section ost, and specially the credits song. Would I recommend this? Yeah, sure, go nuts with it, I didn't liked as much but maybe someone else will enjoy walking a hallway, after all this is a popular hack and people seem to like it, and specially if you like uncovering stuff by datamining
