The Spares

In more recent times there has been a range of spare trucks that have entered the Cleanaway fleet from past bush contracts. All were put to work straight away upon arrival and were found to be either working in the Northern or in the South East areas. Over the past couple of months a few of these spares have made it down to Boroondara to collect the Recycling and MelbourneGarbo (Caiden) got the privilege to drive them out on either his own run or chop out runs. First truck we see is #053 which is a SPAK Series 2 Raptor that came down from the Albury region as you may notice for its Halve Waste signage. It has an identical sister truck which is #052 that is in notably in better condition. I would of thought that older trucks like these would of been replaced by Euro4 Acco Raptors or later model Dennis trucks but with a shortage of trucks this one here is a great deal to be a spare. Next up is SL00495 or formally known as #162 which also came down from a former Cleanaway bush contract but where from I'm not sure but I have my money on Murrindindi Council. It is an MJ MkIV on an Acco cab chassis which is my favorite combo. When this one came down there was a few more identical trucks that also made it down from other bush contracts up North although this one here was the one to keep. You may remember it as being a slow MkIV but nowadays features a sped up arm and is a decent truck to get around in. Finally the last truck is a Euro4 Acco Raptor that came down from Benalla Rural City. This truck ran as a full time Recycle truck and whether or not it had an identical sister truck I'm not sure. A new contract started in Benalla which saw the introduction of more Dennis Raptors and a new bin roll out hence why it is now a spare with the many other Euro4 Raptors.
