The Specials Effect: Amplifying Learning

When a classroom teacher and specials teacher intentionally collaborate, the experiences can support learning in multiple ways. Josh Meibos is a National Board Certified Teacher in early and middle childhood physical education and taught K-8 PE for 11 years. Josh is currently a program director at the Arizona K12 Center, a part of Northern Arizona University, working with beginning teachers. In 2018, he was named Arizona Educational Foundation’s Arizona Teacher of the Year, and in 2020, he was recognized as Arizona Health and Physical Education’s Middle School Teacher of the Year. Josh earned his bachlor's degree from Utah State University, his master's from Arizona State University, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Northern Arizona University.
