In a continuation of their long-standing collaboration, Matt Johnson has scored his brother Gerard’s new film, Odyssey, released in UK cinemas 7th November 2025: Fiery, sharp-tongued, and ambitious real estate agent Natasha Flynn (Polly Maberly) lives every day on the verge of total success – or ruin. Her luxurious lifestyle is an unaffordable mask for the lonely void she’s tried to fill with the hustle for success. Then, when a shady lender forces her complicity in a criminal scheme to settle a debt, Natasha seeks out a dangerous old friend for help (Mikael Persbrandt). As pressure from colleagues, collectors and criminals escalates, so begins a wild, neon-soaked ride through London’s dark underbelly. Two singles have been released from the Odyssey soundtrack: 'Unrequited' and 'Live & Let Live'. Gerard Johnson's video for 'Live & Let Live' utilises unused footage from the film, affording a glimpse of the protagonist's journey. With this film centring around a female protagonist, Matt felt it would be fitting to feature a female vocalist in some of the soundtrack – in this case Gillian Glover, who also sang backing vocals on Ensoulment. THE THE has a history of collaborating and duetting with notable female vocalists such as Neneh Cherry, Anna Domino, Sinead O’Connor, Meja Kullersten and Liz Horsman. but on ‘Live & Let Live’, it is the first time someone other than Matt has sung the lead vocal. The singles are also available as a limited edition double A-side 7” vinyl single, ‘Unrequited’ / ‘Live & Let Live’ featuring previously unseen artwork by Matt and Gerard’s late brother, Andrew (AKA Andy Dog).
