The Wave
Portland quartet Kallai unveil, The Wave, the first look at their first LP, We Are Forever, arriving this fall on Little Cloud Records. Inspired by historian Susan Stryker’s “My Words to Victor Frankenstein Above the Village of Chamounix,” the track pairs towering guitars with ethereal vocals and a driving rhythm section to deliver a story of the transformative power of rage. Recorded in part with Collin Hegna of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Federale, The Wave streams July 25th. https://kallaipdx.com https://kallai.bandcamp.com https://open.spotify.com/artist/4x3AJRfiTkD1Zql5LIopW8 Lyrics: Sore feet hit the ground Until it runs red Been running since rapture Turned to dread Chased to Earth’s end Nowhere left to flee Caught between fear And the Sea I dive in the water Sink into the deep Dissolve in the darkness That flows through me I am the water I am the wave I am the monster I am the rage I will destroy your whole world From field to chateau Every breath drowns All you know Hark this herald creature Bearing tides unknown That wash away the nature You control I dive in the water Sink into the deep Dissolve in the darkness That flows through me I am the water I am the wave I am the monster I am the rage The wave wrecks, through me (Rage) The wave cleans, through me (Rage) The wave builds, through me (Rage) The wave renews me (Rage)
