I’ve been playing chess for 17 years. I’m a FIDE Candidate Master and I have reached 2600 Elo online. I now run a mentorship program that helps 200+ players improve their skills and reach 2000. How I got here... 4 yrs old: Started learning chess—taught by my mum. 5 yrs old: Played my first tournament and won 1st place (in the Under 6 age group lol) 6: Started training with Grandmasters worldwide 7: Competed in my first World Youth Chess Championships—finished 10th place out of 86. 6–10 yrs old: Won 3 Australian Junior Age Championships. 9: Joined the Junior Elite Training Squad (JETS), training with Australia’s top GMs. 11: Earned my FIDE CM title at the Oceania Zonal. Also became the Under 18 State Blitz Champion. 14 yrs old: Played in the World U20 Championship, gaining over 100 rating points and reaching 2114 FIDE. Then things took an unexpected turn… 15 yrs old: Quit competitive chess to pursue a new passion—squash. I was surprised by how much my chess skill transferred into the sport. 17: Became a national-level squash player, placing 3rd in my state. 18: Even though squash is a physical sport, my coach taught me the importance of the mental game – which I later applied to chess when I began coaching 19: Return to chess – started coaching players in my spare time. I also started posting bite-sized lessons on Instagram (@chessmaster_secrets) 20: Hit my peak online rating of 2600 on Chess.com. Today (21 yrs old): - 10 years of competitive experience, 17 years of playing, & 3 years of coaching - Helped 3,000+ players improve through free courses and community - Currently mentoring over 200 students inside my coaching program I don’t sell a million products.
