The 1982 British Open Contest was held at the Free Trade Hall for the first time after the demise of the Traditional Belle Vue Venue
Attached is the performance of the Test Piece by the winning Band, Besses o' th' Barn in its evening Gala Concert.
I believe that the Besses lads were in the Bar for a long while after coming off stage and were not expecting a win.
They all had to sober up as quickly as they were able in order to play in the evening Gala Concert
