Time-lapse films of kitchen table caterpillars, collected as eggs or first instars from our garden by my wife and children and carefully cultivated by the former; the first few were named after the members of popular postdeluvian musical group Three for Silver (Willo, Lucas, and Corwin) who happened to be staying with us at the time. But the caterpillars eat fennel, which is a lot like dill. Here they are, eating, molting from fourth to fifth instar, pupariating, and eclosing (I'm pretty sure the two eclosion sequences are Corwin and ...hm. Grace?). All butterflies were freed promptly, and some were witnessed frolicking gaily amongst the fennel and dill thereafter.
