Throwback Month
Last Christmas, I found the old pink Sonicflood CD and decided to listen. As the songs played, memories that had seemingly faded over the years began to clearly replay in my mind and I was suddenly taken back to 1996 when the Lord saved me. Faces, feelings and stories came flooding back to my mind as In The Secret played through the speakers. I have to admit I teared up a bit. If you know me well, you know that it doesn't take much for this to happen. Still, I found it impossible to hold back the tears as I remembered the faithfulness of the Lord from those days. I began to research the most popular worship songs from the last few decades and found more songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s that brought more memories and made me wonder if these songs would stir the hearts and minds of the people at The Village Church, as they did mine. We decided to give it a try and found that singing these songs were a powerful tool to remember the faithfulness of the Lord and encourage the saints. My hope is that these songs would remind you of the Lord's faithfulness and steadfast love for His children and maybe even make you tear up a little.
