The plaintiff says she lived with the defendant for two years until one night, when they had an argument over the defendant’s daughter and the defendant slapped and choked her. In self-defense, she then hit him on the head with a beer bottle, and she’s suing him today for emotional distress, a computer and college tuition. The defendant admits he grabbed the plaintiff by the neck during an argument, but insists it was because she was grabbing his daughter by the arms at the top of the stairs and he feared for his daughter’s safety. He claims the plaintiff was arrested for the assault, not him. He is countersuing her for unpaid bills, stolen property and car damages.
