Dominant trait needs only 1 affected allele, whereas recessive trait needs both allele Normally a dominant trait will be seen in all generations, but a recessive trait may skip generations We can have X-linked dominant or Autosomal dominant trait. In autosomal dominant or recessive both males and females have equal chance of getting affected, as it is not linked with the sex chromosomes. X linked dominant shows a crisscross inheritance i.e. an affected daughter will come from affected father. And affected sons will come from affected mother In X linked recessive only males get affected and mainly females turn out to be carriers In autosomal dominant, unaffected offspring can come from affected parents, and the exact opposite happens in autosomal recessive wherein, affected kids can come from unaffected parents.
