He said he had almost forgotten what a world in color looked like. That day, he quietly visited his own grave, whispering to the version of himself once swallowed by darkness: “What is it that I truly want?” He didn’t have an answer— Not yet. But now, standing on the rooftop of the Elfsong Tavern, the wind playing through his hair and the distant city lights blending with the stars, he no longer clings to that question. Maybe this moment… is enough. Along the way, he found friends. He found love. This kind of closeness—the feeling of being understood and not alone—was once an impossible dream. But now, they’re right beside him. Boom— Fireworks burst into the sky, lighting up all of Baldur’s Gate. And for a brief instant, they lit up his world too. He whispered: “To freedom.” To the version of himself that walked through darkness and finally found the light. _____________________________________________________________________________________ This animation is my answer to six months of self-taught rendering from scratch. Since entering the fandom, I’ve seen countless debates about ascended and unascended line. But this time, I wanted to create a story with no sides, no labels— Just a quiet moment to focus on the character himself. Whatever you believe about his past— He’s free now. And his future holds infinite possibilities. Just like ours.
