Together, we are ready. More than 1,000 personnel from Our Army, Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), alongside key aviation partners, came together for Exercise Nexus Resolve — a two-day counter-terrorism exercise conducted from 5–6 May. Held at the Home Team Tactical Centre and Changi Airport, the exercise simulated near-simultaneous terror incidents across a shopping mall and an aircraft, testing inter-agency coordination under complex, high-threat conditions including armed attacks in public spaces, hostage situations, and an aircraft hijacking, to test and strengthen inter-agency coordination, command and control, and operational response under complex and dynamic conditions. From hostage scenarios to aircraft hijacking and improvised explosive threats, the SAF Special Operations Task Force (SOTF) worked closely with Home Team counterparts to deliver swift, coordinated responses to conduct deliberate, precision-led operations to neutralise threats and secure affected areas. As highlighted by Commander SOTF, Colonel (COL) Alvin Tjioe Jin Kiat, the exercise underscored the critical importance of close coordination between the SAF and Home Team agencies in safeguarding Singapore.
