Tomy Trackmaster RWS Thomas

Here's a little passion project I made whilst building Albert, Donald and Douglas. Railway Series style Thomas. He's not based off any specific RWS version of Thomas, but rather a combination of all of them to present the overall style of the books. He has a flat running board at his front, but at the back it curves down. these two things never appeared together, but I liked how they looked as a representation of the books. I used a Steam Along Thomas and flipped the direction of the chasis to change his shape. this meant taking out most of his insides so everything would fit properly. I then cut his side tanks to make a real gap between his wheel arches and boiler. I then filled in the holes with card. I raised the height of his side tanks using balsa wood which was smoothed with putty and painted sky blue. the running board was painted black and I used paint pens for his lining and lettering. I chose to use a paper face to best present him as RWS style. Subscribe for more!
