After a busy stretch of family life and scheduling challenges, I’m back in the shop and working hard to catch up on a series of sponsor commitments. In this video, I share an early look at a few tools that will be featured in an upcoming Tools Unleashed episode. First up is a magnetic blade square from Andy Klein, a simple accessory designed to help dial in band saw table alignment when paired with a digital angle gauge. The concept is solid, but my experience showed that the final accuracy really depends on the quality of the gauge you use with it. I also take a look at SmartCasters, a clever retractable caster system that lets you lift a bench or cabinet, roll it where it needs to go, then set it back down. They’re a slick solution for mobile shop furniture, especially if convenience is your top priority. Next is the JessEm box joint jig, a dedicated router-based setup that makes cutting clean, repeatable box joints incredibly easy. It trades some versatility for simplicity, but if you value fast setup and straightforward results, it’s a very appealing option. And finally, I talk about one of my longtime favorite sanding accessories, the Preppin’ Weapon from TimeSaver Tools. I’ve used it for years, and now we’re excited to start carrying it ourselves at TWW Store in a combo pack with sandpaper. Beyond the tools, this video is also a personal check-in. Our family is finally starting to get back to doing fun things together again, and we’re heading out for a Comic-Con weekend in Kansas City, something Nicole and I used to love before kids and now get to enjoy with them.
