ABOUT THE VIDEO: I've been struggling with this video for a few weeks now. For many reasons, one being lack of footage (that cam rip of the full movie was seriously trying to seduce me oh my god) and the other being that I was confused about what I exactly was trying to get across through my interpretation of the lyrics. (and of course just, plain out inspiration being a bitch, but that was to be expected) So, this video is essentially the consequences of Katniss' decision to volunteer for Prim and the repercussions of starting a revolution; of becoming the mockingjay. At the time, she made the only choice she thought she could live with, and now she will have to live with the results of that decision for the rest of her life. (can I just cry can I) The other way I interpret this song to be Hunger Games is that I feel as if it describes war in its rawest form. "You grow from the inside, erupt like volcano." A small spark sets off a chain reaction that no one expects or is ready for and in the blink of an eye, that small spark is a enormous fire that's spiraling out of control. Katniss, the girl on fire, is that spark, and sadly in the end it's just as Katniss says: "if we burn, you burn with us." I did try my best to allude to the 2nd and 3rd books, but in the end I don't think I got that through. The "you'll learn to know" is interpreted as Katniss will learn to understand just what it is that she has done, what she has started. She will learn to know that her actions, while noble, have consequences. And as for the song, I heard it in a Downton Abbey promo that for some reason is on private on CBS's channel. It was so fucking gorgeous though, I downloaded it when I saw it but never thought of vidding it until I was searching for songs. (Ok I think that's it. I hate writing descriptions so much oh lord. I have so much to say while I'm vidding and then I have to write it finally and it's like I've forgotten how to spell my own name). Thanks for watching & reading! :) - Kelly p.s.
