This video describes how to calculate the track, trace or conductor width for a PCB or printed circuit board. It is based on a blog Kicad Tutorial 1.12: Trace, Track or Conductor Width Calculation for a PCB or printed circuit board that can be found here: https://kicad-tutorial.blogspot.com/2019/10/tutorial-112-trace-or-conductor-width.html The first trace width calculator that we use is the trace width calculator of Advanced Circuits that can be found here: https://www.4pcb.com/trace-width-calculator.html We also use the track width calculator available in KiCad located in the PCB Calculator of KiCad. Both the calculators of Advanced Circuits and KiCad is based on IPC-2221 or IPC-2221A. The conductor width calculator of Saturn PCB Design Inc is also used. It can be downloaded at: http://saturnpcb.com/pcb_toolkit/ The Saturn PCB Design Toolkit provides for the calculation of conductor width using the IPC-2221A, IPC-2152 without modifiers, and the IPC-2152 with modifiers. In the end, we choose the IPC-2152 with modifiers which provided for a track width of 22 mils for a current of 2 amps.
