I finally got another chance to film a train going over my GoPro. I got the camera in position in plenty of time and had the app on my phone connected to it ready to hit record. When the train came around the curve, I couldn't tell exactly how fast it was going, but then I realized it was slowing down. By that time, I wasn't about to attempt to get my camera. So I hit record and this video is what I ended up with. Better than the last, and pretty interesting to see the detail of the cars better with them moving slow. But, it's still not the video I wanted. Maybe next time.
