The sound is not good as it was very windy this AM in the park when we did this video. Thank you Alice for taking the video. This training idea came from a Julie Flanery freestyle seminar I attended in August 2015. LOVE freestyle for all their moves and training and because it's so much fun besides. I encourage everyone interested in having fun and learning lots and lots of good things you can apply to obedience and rally to attend a freestyle seminar sometime. I immediately applied the baby gates here - which are really metal storage cubes you buy and put together. I bought the four cube set and got two sets of gates from them. They are held together with zip ties and are inexpensive and easy to make and move around. The gates help the dog succeed as you work on teaching them to back up, back in around, turn R or L in a nice tight circle and much more. Webe, my Australian Terrier has been using the gates since June - Stella was just introduced to them today. She is just starting her rally/obedience training and was having trouble doing an about turn to the R - she wanted to duck in behind her handler. I hope this gives you some inspiration for training. I'll try to do a couple more videos on using these little gates to train and perfect some rally and obedience moves. AND check out Rally FrEe for something really fun and challenging. Yes, I plan to compete as soon as I can understand the signs and we get a chance to "play". It's excellent practice for other venues.
