Transonic buffet : An overview
The dissemination of knowledge to raise public awareness is one of the objectives of public researchers. As part of the H2020 TEAMAero European research project, I have attempted to do this in the following video where I provide a general overview of buffet dynamics over wings in transonic regime, which is my main research topic. I tried my best to provide a clear explanation of the main phenomena and I hope that you (the audience) will be able to understand the big picture. The simulation is not completely physically correct due to a bad choice of boundary conditions but we can still appreciate the main flow features. I would like to say thanks to Alessandro d’Aguano for his experimental aerodynamics input. When I started this mini-project I really thought that the most difficult part would be to render the animations with good quality and make a coherent video with logical transitions… I was very surprised to find that the most difficult part (to me) was to record the speech in multiple audios while keeping the same speeds, tone and acoustics in every single audio! This is something that I really have to improve if I decide creating content like this which is also a good training for public speaking.
