TRAUMA - Craving
Legendary Polish death metal force TRAUMA announces reissue of theirs classic, out of stock for a long time, mini-album Hamartia. Soon on Selfmadegod Records. Mister, mastermind of the band, said: As previously announced, we have prepared another reissue of one of TRAUMA’s long-unavailable releases. The year 2026 marks exactly 20 years since the premiere of the mini-album "Hamartia", originally released in 2006 by Empire Records. There could hardly be a better occasion to bring this material back to your attention. As with several of our recent reissues, this one will also bear the Selfmadegod Records logo. We decided to expand original tracklist with three bonus recordings. The first is an alternative version of "Craving", recorded during the same session, but never included on the original release. The other two are covers of Slayer’s "Silent Scream" and Gorefest’s "Reality When You Die" — tracks previously featured on other TRAUMA releases, now brought together as part of this "Hamartia" reissue. The new visual concept was developed by Archart Design. The original front cover has been refreshed and the entire layout has been redesigned, featuring more photos and an overall more engaging presentation. The material was also remastered by Paweł “Janos” Grabowski at JNS Studio in Warsaw. The album will be available in several standard formats. TRAUMA is one of the best known, renowned and longest-running Polish death metal bands. The band was formed in 1986, initially under the name Thanatos and quickly became part of the emerging extreme metal underground scene in Poland. After recording two demo tapes Deo Optimo Maximo (1989) and Out of Sanity (1990), Thanatos changed its name to TRAUMA and began operating under the name that continues to this day. The band’s debut album Comedy Is Over was released in 1996, showcasing an uncompromising approach to death metal inspired by both the American and European scenes. Following the release of the Daimonion EP in 1998, the group returned in 2000 with a sophomore album, Suffocated in Slumber. The record proved to be a major success, earning the band a contract with the German label System Shock and leading to a tour alongside Vader and Decapitated. Highlights from that tour were captured on the live release Crash Test – Live (2001). Subsequent releases—Imperfect Like a God (2003), Determination (2005), and the EP Hamartia (2006)—marked the most extreme and uncompromising phase in the band’s history. With Neurotic Mass (2007), TRAUMA not only demonstrated a new level of compositional maturity within the death metal genre, but also introduced a more experimental edge, incorporating elements of industrial and unconventional arrangement techniques. After the albums Archetype of Chaos (2010) and Karma Obscura (2013), the band returned in 2020 with Ominous Black and the EP Acrimony (2021), both released via Selfmadegod Records.
