This song “Jigidem” which means “Uphold me, O Lord” in Igbo is a reimagined drill version of a 30+ year-old gospel classic.
I recorded this during one of the hardest seasons of my life, while my mom was in surgery, when funds were running out, and I was sleeping beside her in the hospital for over a month. Every bar carries prayer, pain, and hope.
At the end of the track, I sampled my mom praying, a real, unfiltered cry for God to uphold us.
This is more than music. It’s faith, survival, and testimony.
