Trigun - Drunk AF

I rewatched the OG Trigun anime recently, then finally got around to watching Stampede (I liked it!), then I reread the manga, and it all woke up the sleeper agent Trigun fan in my brain from when I got into it in high school and gave me Trigun brainrot real bad, so I really wanted to make an MMV for it. The song I ended up vibing with the most surprised me, but honestly I feel like it works surprisingly well since despite the topic of the song the melancholy tone creates a great dissonance that can add a lot of extra meaning to the words. While Vash does do plenty of drinking in the manga and 98 anime, in this video being "drunk" generally represents more of a lack of control, whether it's Vash lacking control over his powers, his emotions, or losing someone he loves and not being able to do anything about it. Autonomy is a big theme in the manga for Vash's character and it's something he struggles with throughout the series since everyone is hell bent on ripping his autonomy away from him. Also there's some Vashwood in the video because Vashwood, especially TriMax Vashwood, has me in a chokehold lol. The scans I used were from the Trigun Manga Overhaul, though I did edit some panels myself to either get rid of speech bubbles of get a certain contrast/emphasis I wanted. Go check the overhaul out on tumblr if you wanna read the manga in high quality with some improved/updated translations (and if you haven't you should totally read the manga it's amazing).
