Hi again,
Here's a tool I've wanted to make for a long time; a heading die for bolts and rivets. I've made bolster plates from mild steel, but I find they don't hold up as heading dies, so I made this one with a piece of steel from an old file to give it a bit more hardness on the top working surface. It's welded onto a mild steel base to reinforce it and give it a bit more impact resistance. I'm trying to remember when I make a tool to include a quick clip of that tool in use, so there's a quick bit at the end where I make a rivet from a slightly upset piece of 1/4" mild round bar.
Thanks for watching!
