Trying to Help Each Other at Home Started Causing Tension

What happens when you and your partner approach everyday life in completely different ways? As a nonbinary couple without traditional gender roles deciding who does what in our home, Barrie and I quickly realized that sharing responsibilities doesn’t automatically create harmony. In fact, when two people with different habits, systems, and preferences start building a life together, those differences can create unexpected tension. In this video, we talk about the emotional reality of sharing space and responsibilities in a relationship: The System Clash: How small everyday differences — from laundry routines to kitchen habits — can create friction when partners approach tasks differently.
