Tutorial 03 - SQL like Data Preparation on RapidMiner

Sooner or later, people who are interested in using RapidMiner will run into SQL, the database language called “Structural Query Language”. It is ubiquitous! However, as popular as it has been, it is hard to deal with without proper IT background. After a short tutorial in one of our RapidMiner workshops held for ICU professionals, the participants seemed to be able to read some SQL scripts that define important medical concepts. However, many of them were hesitant to write a new one from scratch or modify an existing one. As such, even though RapidMiner allows users to embed SQL queries in a database operator, they would like to see if they can build a logically equivalent RapidMiner process and modify it whenever needed.
