Tutorial: Double Knitting
In this video for our Skill Builder Box yarn club, Debbie explains the basics of double knitting, a technique that creates a reversible fabric consisting of two layers of stockinette stitch. This tutorial covers the basics of double knitting, and how to knit colourwork patterns in double knitting. Debbie demonstrates the basic technique for double knitting, how to cast on and cast off, and create an edging to join the two layers of fabric together. She also covers how to knit a colourwork pattern by alternating which yarn colour is used for the foreground and background, and how to read written directions and charts for double knitting.
