Tutorial: IPv6 Familiarity Training
Most people cite a lack of training as the biggest hurdle to starting an IPv6 deployment. IPv6 isn't that complicated, but this familiarity session will help networkers get over the initial hurdle, and be familiar enough with core IPv6 concepts to be able to begin their project.Topics covered will be the IPv6 address format and subnetting, address planning, neighbor and router discovery, DHCP and SLAAC, some security considerations, and an introduction to the most popular transition mechanisms.Lee Howard: Lee Howard has 30 years of experience in networking. He has served on the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), the Board of Trustees of the American Registry of Internet Numbers (ARIN), and as a working-group co-chair of IPv6 Renumbering and IPv6 Operations working groups at the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). As Director of Network Technology, he led the IPv6 program at Time Warner Cable.
