Tutorial Technique: Crescent Moon Split Ring

Supplies needed: Two shuttles - It is possible to tat with a shuttle and ball, but you will have to pass the ball through your work which can be challenging. Split rings are worked most easily with two shuttles. Two different thread colors - I recommend size 3 or 10 as they are easiest to see when learning. I've been tatting for over a decade, and I prefer learning to tat new techniques on size 3 thread, because I can see what the technique is doing. Scissors Crochet hook Frog-stitch (retro tatting) tool (this can be a shuttle pick, small crochet hook, or other small pointy object) - it is used for undoing knots when we make mistakes.
