Tutorial: Texturing 3d scans with Photogrammetry #2 with Realitycapture, Cloudcompare and Revopoint

In this tutorial, we will show you how to texture 3D scans from a Revopoint scanner with photogrammetry models created in RealityCapture. We use CloudCompare to align the two models and RealityCapture to create UV maps and textures. Here are the steps we cover: Creating the Photogrammetry Model in RealityCapture: Capturing photos with a target board featuring Apriltags of class Square 36h11 for accurate scaling and orientation. Generating a 3D model in RealityCapture and exporting the untextured model. Aligning the Models in CloudCompare: Importing the point cloud and photogrammetry model into CloudCompare. Scaling the point cloud by a factor of 0.001 to convert from millimeters to meters. Manually aligning and fine-tuning with ICP. Converting the point cloud into a mesh using Poisson Surface Reconstruction (Octree Level 12). Creating Textures in RealityCapture: Importing the aligned mesh into RealityCapture. Using an existing alignment component for precise alignment. Creating UV maps and textures using the captured photos. Exporting the textured 3D model.
