Relatively large cross section. The working stage rests on 2 or 3 stalls temporarily set into holes, made in walls of the raise. If consists of wooden plunks laid over stalls. applicability:- 1. length - 15 -20m 2. inclination : very steep incline to verticle (60-90deg) Description:  Depending upon requirement two or three compartment are made.  In two compartment method one compartment will be serve as ore pass and the other compartment will serve as man ways, pipes, cables etc.  Initially the excavations 2m done from the lower level.  Then the raise is divided into compartment and the raise is driven continuously.  after firing a round of holes the stage is advanced towards the face  the working stage rests on two or three stulls ( iron bar)  stulls are temporary set into the walls of stope. It consist of wooden plank laid over the stulls.  after drilling, holes are charged with explosive and platform is dismantled from the face  before firing, the ladder compartment get covered by thick wooden plank to protect the ladder compartment and also to divert the blasted ore to ore compartment.  after blasting ventilation is introduced to face to remove blasting fumes and dilute dust.  blasted face get dressed by ( loose piece of rock recovered)  After getting sufficient progress, the platform is extended. Generally after two or three blasting compartment is required to be extended. Advantages :  Strong platform can be erected.  Pipes, cables are well exacted.  Since one compartment is act as ore pass, so loading is easier at lower ends.  Person can be protect in the compartment when climbing from flying rock or adjacent roof on side fall.
