I wrote this song from a true story I read in the LA Times some years ago. Of course the ending is my creation... Two Wings and a Biscuit is about the Civil Rights Movement and a man who fought the good fight. Later he buys a home in South Central LA. Unfortunately as the neighborhood changes, his son is shot in a drive-by. I embellished the song by giving it a tragic-comic ending.
