UAV assistance simulation
Author: Pedro Luiz Magalhães Cumino The use of UAVs, also known as drones, has been widely used in various smart city scenarios. In 5G, drones are also used to enhance or assist communication between devices in scenarios where network resources are scarce. This video shows some of the basic concepts of using drones in network and communication assistance scenarios and presents a way to simulate a simple scenario using NS-3, a network simulator widely used in academia. The code is available here: https://github.com/pcumino/ns3_lte_uav_assistance/ #TeamUp5G TeamUp5G is a European Training Network (ETN) in the frame of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks (MSCA ITN) of the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 framework. ETNs are multi-partner research training networks whose beneficiaries will be drawn from the academic and non-academic sectors to form a structured, international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary research and training environment for PhD students (read more on MSCA ITN ETNs). TeamUp5G’s EU funding adds up to 3.72 million Euro between 2019 and 2022. Project Number 813391 https://teamup5g.webs.tsc.uc3m.es/
