On August 21st, 2017, for the 69th balloon launch conducted by the University of Maryland Balloon Payload Program, the team went to Palmetto High School in South Carolina to view the total solar eclipse and launch a weather balloon during totality. The flight achieved a maximum altitude of 104,647 feet, or 19.8 miles into the atmosphere.
